Conference Location

Busch Student CenterUD SUMMIT 6 is being be held on the lower level of the Busch Student Center (Wool Ballroom, rooms 170-173) on the campus of St. Louis University, 20 North Grand Avenue (corner of Grand and Laclede Avenue, 63103), St. Louis, MO. From the Compton Parking Garage (3400 Olive St, Saint Louis, MO 63103-1117) walk across campus and enter the back of the building. Just inside the entrance, take the escalator down to the conference level. For wheelchair access, just inside the same entrance, is an elevator on the right, which will take you to the lower level.

14-10 10/22 STL Airport Boxing CleverArriving By Air: St. Louis University and the hotels on the website are all about a 25-minute cab ride from Lambert International Airport. Metrolink, St. Louis’s light rail system, stops at the airport. Ask any airline Gate Agent for directions. If you are staying at the Moonrise Hotel, the Metrolink train goes from the airport to within one block of the hotel. The stop for the Moonlight is the Delmar Station.

Metrolink: Metrolink, the light rail system, runs from the airport to and from the downtown area. Inquire at your hotel if a Metrolink stop is within walking distance. If not, a taxi may be your best choice. You can ride Metrolink to the Grand Station and catch the St. Louis University (SLU) shuttle to Busch Student Center. Metrolink is wheelchair accessible.

Taking MetroLink to the SLU Campus

Taxi: St. Louis University (SLU) and the hotels on the website are all about a 25-minute cab ride from Lambert International Airport. If you are staying at a hotel near SLU ask if the hotel has a shuttle that will take you to campus. If not, buses run along Olive Boulevard to the campus and taxis are usually readily available. It is a short ride from most of the hotels listed on the website.

St. Louis University Shuttle: SLU has a shuttle that stops at many locations around the campus. Conference attendees may ride the SLU Shuttle. There are shuttle stops outside the Compton Garage at Metrolink (take stairs or elevator from the platform up to Grand Avenue to the SLU Shuttle stop), at the Busch Student Center and many campus locations. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes. If you booked your stay at the Water Tower Inn, the SLU Shuttle runs between the Busch Student Center Monday through Friday and not on weekends.


Parking: The Compton Garage is located on the east end of the St. Louis University Campus. Parking is $5 per day. Walk across the campus to Busch Student Center or ride the SLU Shuttle. Ask the parking lot attendant directions to the shuttle stop. There also will be signs along the pathway to guide you across campus to the Busch Student Center.

Accessible Parking: Accessible Parking is available in the Compton Garage for low profile vans with lifts. High profile vans will not fit in the Compton Garage and should go to the parking lot just east of the intersection of Grand and Laclede, on Laclede in front of Marchetti Hall.

Pappy’s BarBQue may just have the best BBQ you ever tasted! If you get a chance, stroll over to Olive and Cardinal streets, one block east of the Compton Garage, and get some excellent BBQ. But go as early as you can. They often sell out of ribs they are so good! Pappy’s also has chicken, pork, pulled chicken, pulled pork, sandwiches, grilled corn, beans, slaw, and sweet potato fries.

Grand South Grand is the way “the locals” refer to the restaurant section on south Grand Avenue. Ethnic restaurants abound! Bosnian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Indian, Afghan, you name it… Take a cab to south Grand.

The Loop. If you booked your stay at the Moonrise Hotel, there are many restaurants and nightspots in the Loop, all within walking distance of the hotel. The Loop also includes the St. Louis Walk of Fame, featuring brass stars set into the sidewalks to honor individuals from the St. Louis area who have made major national contributions to the nation’s cultural heritage,, The Metrolink train is also within walking distance from the Moonrise.
